Why Indwell exists
"Indwell" splits into "In" and "dwell" on purpose. In clinical shorthand, IND means Independent — the highest functional outcome a therapist can score. Put the two together, and the name carries both meanings at once: dwelling well, and doing it independently.
In healthcare, once someone is scored "Independent," the formal support mostly stops. The therapy notes close, the case is discharged, the visits end — even though real life doesn't stop asking things of an aging body the day a chart says "independent." A fall, a missed meal, a forgotten conversation, a flight of stairs that used to be easy — none of that shows up in a discharge summary, and none of it waits for the next scheduled checkup.
Indwell exists to stay present in that gap — not to replace medical care, but to sit alongside it, in the home, on an ongoing basis, watching for the small things that quietly decide whether someone stays safely independent or doesn't.
